Need-based Applications for Natural Gas RMS-A and LNG Stations Today, natural gas is an energy source that is widely used in both homes and industrial facilities. For this reason, there have been developed various facilities and systems for storing, carrying and distributing natural gas. Amongst the most important ones of these facilities are RMS-A and LNG stations. In this paper, we will give a more comprehensive information about need-based applications of those two facilities.
Stacje RMS-A
RMS-A stations are the facilities where the natural gas is pressurized and stored before being carried through pipe line. Processes of collecting, storing, pressurizing and controlling natural gas are done in these facilities. Some major applications used at RMS-A stations are as follows:
Pressurizing Systems: Natural gas is pressurized at RMS-A stations. This process provides the necessary pressure for carrying the natural gas. Pressurizing is usually done by using compressors.
Storage Tanks: Special storage tanks are used for storing the natural gas at RMS-A stations. These tanks are designed for storing high-pressure natural gas and are usually built with steel or concrete construction.
Control Systems: At RMS-A stations, special control systems are used to control the flow and pressure of the natural gas. These systems allow the natural gas to be canalized and stored properly.
Stacje LNG
LNG Stations are the facilities where the natural gas is stored and carried after being liquified. These stations are used especially for long-distance shipments, and tankers are used for shipment instead of pipe lines. Main applications used at LNG stations are as follows:
Liquification Systems: At LNG stations, the natural gas is liquified. This process decreases the volume of natural gas and facilitates its transportation. The liquification process is usually carried out by using cooling systems.
Storage Tanks: Specially designed tanks for storing liquid natural gas at LNG stations.
